Cracksealing

Cracksealing

There are two type of crack sealer, cold-pour and hot-pour.

Cold-pour is a pourable asphalt crack sealant. Cold-pour crack sealers become inflexible once it dries, therefore, they cannot expand, contract or adjust to changing temperatures. Cold-pour crack sealers do not bond well to the vertical faces of the crack and will dislodge itself from the crack.

Hot-pour crack sealers are asphalt based and cost more than cold-pour, but, it offers a more permanent solution. Due to its durability and flexibility, it will expand and contract, this allows the material to adjust to the weather conditions.

OSP utilizes an oil, jacketed, diesel melter/applicator to install hot crack sealer.
